When should I replace my headset?

(Unless you just decide you want to try a new pair, of course.).
Can you put a threadless headset on threaded forks?
You can install a threadless headset on a threaded fork, if the fork steerer is tall enough and you use a quill stem. The threads should end above the headset top race. Use two locknuts tightened against each other to hold down the threadless top race, plus spacers as needed.
What are universal headphones?
The Universal Earphones contain a microchip in the earbud that senses whether it is exposed to open air in the front of the ear, or in proximity to the back of the ear. Once the earphones determine which ear is left and right, it directs the left channel sound to the left ear, and right channel sound to the right.
How do I know what size my headset is?
You need to measure it in two places. The outside diameter (OD) of the top section (where the stem clamps around, as in the above pic) and the outside diameter of the very bottom bit where the steerer goes into the fork crown (where the headset crown race sits, as in the pic below).
Does left and right earbuds really matter?
Originally Answered: Why are earphones and headphones labelled Left and Right? It does matter. In stereo recordings, the sound coming from the left will sound louder in the left channel. For music this might not be very important or noticable (although audiophiles would disagree) but in movies or TV it is essential.
Why do earbuds have a left and right?
When music is recorded, the goal is to replicate a live music experience, so sound engineers will mix the various sounds to one channel or the other (Left or Right) so your ears hear different parts and you get closer to a “live” listening experience.
What ear hears music better?
The right ear responds more to speech and logic while the left ear is more tuned in to music, emotion and intuition. Scientists believe it’s because speech is processed primarily in the left hemisphere of the brain, while music (and other creative functions) are processed in the right hemisphere.
Why is my right headphone quieter than the left?
When headphones are regularly used, dirt and earwax may accumulate inside the mesh of the earphone. This tends to disrupt the flow of volume. Dirty earphones are usually the reason why only one side is quieter. You can easily spot grime on the surface of the earphone and clean it before you toss away the entire set.
